Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to assess the factors influencing employees’ labour productivity in Kenya Revenue Authority. In order to achieve this, the study used four research objectives which are; to establish the performance measurement system at KRA, to establish the organizational strategic factors that influences employees’ performance at KRA, to establish training and capacity enhancement related factors that influences employees’ performance at KRA and to establish the reward system related factors that influences employees’ performance at KRA. The research methodology that was employed is a descriptive survey design. The study employed systematic random sampling techniques to obtain the 351 required sample size. The data collections instruments was a structured questionnaire distributed to the employees and were later collected for further analysis. Factor analysis was used to establish the employees’ performance measurement systems used by KRA to establish the factors that affect employees’ performance. The processed information was presented using frequency tables, narratives and charts. The study came up with several recommendations among them the Kenya Revenue Authority should endeavor to provide more of the non-financial to the employees to boost their morale in performing their duties and for career growth and development. The study established that KRA had effective performance measurement system that they used to measure the employees performance at work place. The study established the organizational strategic factors that influence employees’ performance at KRA were; KRA vision, mission, objectives, organizational culture and strategic directions and new work systems. The study established that the training and capacity enhancement factors affected employees’ performance.
